Despite all the forecasts of major drops in temperatures we had a lovely bright day. The sun lit up the markings of this tulip beautifully.

True, if living in England the change in temperature would have been sharp. But for those of us more used to fresh temperatures the drop was not major.

Admittedly as I painted the garden fence in the shade, the wind from the north had a chill to it and jeans and a jersey were eventually required. But once back in the sun it was back to shorts and enjoying the weather.

Throughout the day the radio debate swirled around the differences between England and the other 4 nations. If the PM And the Scottish Secretary would have preferred to have lockdown eased in lockstep I wonder why they did not hold off relaxation in England for a couple of weeks until the R number had eased across the UK and in different parts of England (eg Manchester). Might have given more time to prepare and issue the guidance ahead of any announcement.

Maybe something to do with the weather?
