From the Walled Garden....

towards the Cromdales. The garden is now completely overgrown but at one time produced most of the food for the Castle. It is still totally enclosed by a wall, reinforced by wire where it has broken down. It remains impregnable, as the barbed wire cuts on my hand prove! Served me right as I allowed it to spring back on me. There are some enormous Giant Redwoods that have not breached the foundations surprisingly.
Managed a good dry walk and not too cold. There was a sleet shower this afternoon, but it soon dried up. 
The Mossie is covered in Bog Cotton, so felt that worthy of an extra. Found the pretty Lousewort too.
