Today's the day ............................ to carve

My friend Marc is a skilled craftsman.

His house is full of wonderful, wooden carvings of all kinds that he makes in his workshop. Some are just a simple figure. Others consist of a whole group of people caught in the act of doing something. But they all have one thing in common - you just have to touch them and feel the smooth contours of the wood.

He often uses the wood of the sweet chestnut or châtaignier which is widespread in the area of France where he grew up. I'm not sure what wood this lovespoon is made of - but I'm very proud to have one of his creations hanging in my house .................
