Open Space?
This week is the first phase of moving out of our lockdown in England. And today is crucial. Getting back to work (safely?) for those who can't work from home, garden centres opening (safely?), and exercising as much as you like. Even driving for that reason.
I'm not sure whether these measures are advisable or not. We will have to take some calculated risks to move forward, but how and when....?
We have continued to stay local for our walks during the week as my other half is working from home so time is limited. But we did notice quite a bit more traffic than previous days. So would we wish to continue walking along roads in suburbia with increased car exhaust fumes? The image above looks idyllic, but it is surrounded by roads and is a very small open space.
And we have done longer walks at the weekends from our front door, but again I would feel the same with increased car traffic.
I think we will be venturing out in the car this weekend to reach the edges of our town/city to walk in greener spaces. I agree that it would be unwise to swamp our National Park Areas, but do sympathise with those folks who haven't got a garden or cannot reach a green space easily, without driving a reasonable distance.
Although it's lovely to see lots of images online of beautiful places around the country and world, nothing beats actually experiencing it first hand. We've also been told how beneficial it is for our mental health too.
It's a matter of balance and the crucial thing is getting it right.
