Sea Pink (Armeria maritima)
These flowers are a second crop. A few weeks ago the first flush appeared on very short stems. I assumed that was it for the year. Then a while ago these current ones appeared. Growing in a tub by the door they give a welcome splash of colour.
Growing up I used to see wild ones growing on the shore when we cycled down to Dubmill near Allonby. Those of us of a certain age will remember the design on the old "Thruppence" (Threepenny bit) Probably because another name for them is Thrift.
