Speckled Wood

I found this butterfly in Hilliers Haven, a little shaded area down by the Nuns' Stream.  It's a speckled wood and, if my field guide is to be believed, a female.

In terms of excitement, the day hasn't got much beyond that, though I did have a lovely phone chat with my son.  He's always so positive.  What a joy.
