LOCK DOWN – DAY 53
Today we have had a lazy day. And do we feel guilty for having a lazy day? We do not! For the last week or so, our walks have been taking 3-4 hours because we are trying to walk on all the golf courses in Edinburgh before the lock down restrictions are lifted. And unlike England, we are not allowed to drive to exercise. All the remaining golf courses in the city are going to take us about an hour and a half to walk to and then an hour and a half to walk back plus however long it takes to walk around the golf course. And today Ann didn't have enough energy to do that so we didn't do it.
Instead we met Ann's friend Susi in the Meadows for a social distancing sit on a park bench. That's not allowed in Scotland either, but sometimes rules are made to be broken! I like it on the Meadows. I always have a really good run about and there's always loads of groups of students presumably they live together sitting on the grass or doing their daily exercise and they always make a fuss of me and tell me I'm the cutest little collie pup ever.
Anyway Ann and Susi had devised a very clever cunning plan. They had each filled their re-usable coffee cups with wine because in normal times they meet up for wine and dinner, not coffee. And although they obviously couldn't have dinner, they didn't think there was anything wrong with sitting on a park bench at 3pm with a coffee cup full of wine like a couple of old winos?? Actually they are a couple of old winos. A few years ago, Susi's son described them as being like the 'Ab Fab' girls. Ann took that to be a compliment. Lol!
I was so excited to see Susi that I jumped up onto the seat but unfortunately one of my paws fell down the gap in the wooden slats on the seat and I squealed and squealed and squealed. My paw was really hurting and Ann was very upset because she's never heard me squeal before. Fortunately she was able to rescue me. And then, after she'd checked that I was OK, and given me lots of cuddles, I got into trouble for jumping onto the seat. Apparently jumping onto seats is not appropriate behaviour, even if there is a big space for me to sit between the humans.
And once Ann & Susi had finished their wine I got let off my lead again for another run about. Yay!
And now it's Friday night so it's a night in front of the TV for us...................... just like it has been every evening for the last couple of months. #whenwillthiseverend
