Yum Yum

This female blackbird has a hungry brood to feed.

Our Purdy is such a wimp!  I recently relayed the tale of how she was outwitted by a crow that stole her shrew and I have also seen her chased off by the blackbirds when she got too close to their nest.  Yesterday she encountered a male pheasant in the garden which croaked at her and walked towards her.  Initially she hid behind a fuchsia bush but when the pheasant continued towards her she made a dash for the patio doors and sanctuary in the house.  She was then rather alarmed when the pheasant came right up to the glass, looked in and pecked at the window.
