The ivy man.

An overdue job done. My wife and I did a variety of bits and pieces in the garden and our younger son tackled the ivy - glad to get it down. Our older son had a go at it years ago. After a while up the ladder he reverted to cutting part of it off at ground level.... and in the end made no great difference. We seem to grow ivy as easily as weeds here, it’s in the garden and on part of the back fence. And 4 years ago our younger son climbed one of our trees that had an ivy trunk and crown (it was cutting into the tree and killing it); he cut it off, and I’ve kept the ivy at bay since.
