LOCK DOWN – DAY 55

Continuing on with our 'walking on golf courses' project and another mammoth walk. 13.9 miles today but we managed to walk all the way around Bruntsfield Links Golf Course (which is nowhere near Bruntsfield Links) and all the way around Silverknowes Golf Course.

We're not actually sure if we were allowed to walk on Bruntsfield Links Golf Course. There was some string across the entrance to the car park but we assumed that was to keep the cars out. So we just went underneath the string. Lol. Also we passed a very wet Golden Retriever who was coming from that direction so we're pretty sure he'd been for a swim in this pond.

However, once we got onto the golf course we didn't see one single other person or dog. It was really weird because Silverknowes Golf Course had lots of people out walking. Fortunately we didn't see any greenkeepers to tell us off either.

Bruntsfield Links Golf Course is right next to the Royal Burgess Golf Course and Ann was hoping that we could walk around that one as well but unfortunately there were railings between the two and no way of getting onto the course. Boohooo! That means we're going to have to walk for 1 hour 50 mins to get to the main entrance of the Royal Burgess another day.

When we came off Silverknowes Golf Course there was a No. 16 bus waiting at it's terminus. Ann was really tempted to jump on it, but can getting on a bus with a dog (just because you're tired) really be classed as 'essential travel'? So we walked the hour and a half home and both had a snooze as soon as we got in.

Oh well ho hum, only three more Edinburgh Golf Courses to walk on before the Scottish restrictions are lifted and the golfers are back out again. The Royal Burgess, Craigentinny and Portobello.

And these are the ones that we've walked on........................... Swanston, Braid Hills, Mortonhall, Craigmillar Park, Merchants, Liberton, Prestonfield, Duddingston, Carricknowe, Ravelston, Murrayfield, Kingsknowe, Baberton, Bruntsfield Links, Silverknowes. If any of you Edinburgh Blippers can think of any that we've missed please can you let us know.

Still tired so that's it for today folks.

Toodles xx
