Surprised by ........Iris ?

When I said goodnight to the garden yesterday their was no sign of this lovely flower, it seems to have appeared from nowhere during the night . I don’t recall planting it but I think it’s an Iris . It certainly added a bit of joy to the day !
We got up and out for our daily walk a little earlier than usual , we didn’t go far as Dave’s lack of sleep due to his shoulder has caught up with him and he was feeling weary . I had planned an early evening walk to but there has been a fatal shooting nearby and the person who fired the gun is still at large . The police helicopter has been flying  overhead for the last few hours. What a tragic happening and you wonder what the back story is . There will be a lot of folk with fragile mental health out there struggling with all the uncertainty that typifies our new normal. On a brighter note my daughter and I are planning a socially distanced walk tomorrow, we have chosen a route along a wide track so it should be doable . Fingers crossed !
