Helen

...was my grandmother's name. She was born and lived her whole life in Washington state and was named after Mt. St. Helens, which erupted 40 years ago today. At that time my parents and sister and I lived 2500 miles away in Ohio, and our relatives from around Washington sent us samples of volcanic ash through the mail.

A cooler day spent mostly indoors. W. and I walked up the hill tonight (it seemed harder than usual), and I snapped this picture of reseeded Cosmos as we headed out. Hope your week has started well!
