CORNFIELD BEFORE THE RAIN
The local farmers were planting corn like crazy lately. They had a late start due to the weather so when rain was predicted they went into overtime planting...many working late into the night to get it done before the rain came. Then the rain came...more than they wanted. It's been raining now for 4 straight days and it's raining still. Locally we have 5+ inches of wet...over 7 inches just 6 miles away. There's a great likelihood that much of this crop will rot before it gets the chance to germinate. Farmers just can't win. On the home front, my sump pump is running every 4 minutes 24/7. If the power fails my basement will flood for sure. Fingers crossed.
