The Keys to the Door
So, today Mom and Dad finally got the keys to their new house at 1pm. A quick text to Cathie brought some lunch to us. We sat down and ate while mentally clocking all that we needed to do. Cathie took mom shopping for paint while I started cleaning. Dad pottered round doing nobody knows what! When they got back Cathie and I started painting. First the long living room wall cleaned up with white. Then the main bedroom gooseberry fool to cover up the hideous bright pink huge flowers wall paper, and the ceiling - it turned out to be pink too, now its white. Ahhh! Thankfully the ceiling is low enough we could just reach it by standing. Mom and dad disappeared around dinner time as they were tired. We encouraged them to go and just to go to bed. At about 9pm we were hungry so ordered a Chinese takeaway to be delivered. Mmmmm! It was SOOOO good. It's amazing how much more you appreciate food when doing stuff like this. Last thing to be painted was the dining room and hopefully dad won't notice we changed the color! It's now a nice warm terracotta color.
Every single wall and ceiling were horrid to paint as all are covered with textured paper. Anyway, at 1:30am we were done....in more ways than one!
Bed.
