#nomowmay

#nomowmay has resulted in us having a wonderful display of buttercups, and also speedwell and daisies and clover.  We do seem to have a lot of bees around which is the purpose of the exercise.  Luckily our soil in the Chilterns is poor so the grass is thin and we will still be able to mow in June.  In our last garden, on rich farming soil in Wiltshire,  we had to mow twice a week and #nomowmay would have resulted in waist-high impenetrable grass.  I hope this destructive wind dies down soon.  The orchard and vegetable garden are taking a beating.
