THE MORROCANS

When I first came to live in Belgium I met up with PP, a famous Belgian potter who invited me to go & work in "his" workshop in a château in Boisfort, a Brussels suburb.

The workshop & the château actually belonged to an eccentric aristocrat, Simon, Compte du Chastel (RIP). Simon made our Captain Chaos look like Mary Poppins!

Apart from PP & I, Simon had adopted a mad Morrocan potter who not only threw large pots at an alarming rate, he also built three wood-fired kilns at the back of the workshop.
