Favourite novel

Not a great deal of blipping opportunities today, its Sunday. I would find it helpful if the days as well as the date could be marked on blipfoto, especially now when they all merge together indistinguishably.  The weather is what primarily defines the day and today was wet for most of it, which I like. I like walking in the rain, preferably when its not also windy. Today the river was still high, walked to get the Sunday papers and returned with no kingfisher sightings.

The news dominated by the PM’s Svengali/Rasputin disregard for the lockdown. Thus far backed by the PM on the incredulous grounds of integrity. You could not write this stuff in a political satire. It all adds to the sense of unreality and the idea, fleeting like the kingfisher, that this is happening in a parallel universe and I will wake soon and it will all be as it was.

Challenged on fb to post my 10 favourite novels – of which The Sea The Sea is one, my favourite is The Bell but I could not fond my copy, annoying because we used to have 2. The blip is a mash-up.

Roast beef for supper followed by Walking with Elephants which was quite horrific in places, but that’s lions for you. Hippos apparently kill 500 people a year in Botswana, more than Covid 19 I’ll be bound.

I so want to swim.
