Rain and the rhododendrons
The river has risen I reckon around a metre, perhaps more, and it looks like it did back in the winter. very few ducks about and those that were we free wheeling downstream on the current, or curled up on the banks. very few people too, a few runners and that was it. A good day to explore the woodland garden and get some blips of the rhododendrons of which this is one example. The colours have not replicated that well and really do not do justice to this strawberry ice cream shade. The second blip is a japonica which was far more orange than it looks here. Somewhere there is a 'handkerchief tree' which sounds intriguing and I must find out what and where it is.
Oatcakes and marmalade still going well.
