Country Roads
A plain vanilla day. Washing done and put away, minimal housework - there's no-one but us to see it. The daily weeding quota (one trug-full) completed.
After lunch, the high spot, Click and Collect at Morrisons in Hawick. First time we tried it, all went smoothly. Except that TM decided to pop into Aldi for a few things he likes (chocolate), which can only be got at Aldi. We seem to have enough food to last for a month ...
We thought, since we've been abiding by our somewhat stricter interpretation of the rules than those with more friends in high places, maybe we could take the roads less travelled on our return trip. And that's how we got ourselves lost.
This simply never happens to TM. His consternation was quite comical. It was all over before it began, really, and ten minutes later we were back where we started and on the familiar road home.
I enjoyed seeing a different view of our familiar landmarks - in the extra - the Eildon and Minto Hills. The Eildons are the better known (the ones with 3 peaks) but I'm very fond of the Mintos. like two little dumplings swelling gently out of the valley.
