Bank Holiday Monday, apparently!
We had a good afternoon walk up to Wooler Common, the long way round. Unfortunately, the road to Earle, usually very quiet, seemed busier than ever, but there were no cars in the steep, wooded valley leading up to the Common (extra). The air was summer-scented - wild flowers everywhere, and may and gorse blossom in profusion! At the top, we walked through the fields (thankfully the cows stayed well away from the footpath!) and down to the Common. The candles on the horse chestnut trees survived the fierce winds of the past couple of days, and look magnificent.
We were still out while Dominic Cummings addressed the nation, but heard the news later in the evening. The sheer arrogance of the man! Why, exactly, are Boris and his crew so keen to defend his actions?
Lockdown, day 63, Monday
