Oh what a beautiful morning.
Oh what a beautiful morning.
So lucky to have had so many since lockdown.
A slightly different walk today to collect eggs from the farm.
We had wonderful clear views over to the Pennines and across to Emley Moor, ( although not in this photo)
The cows I blipped the other day have moved fields and are in the centre of the picture, alongside a pathway, which is part of The Kirklees Way. This passes a group of houses
to the right of the photo.
The one with the gable end and tall chimneys is the house where I lived for 21 years before we were married.
These are the fields and paths where I played as a child. Where we went blackberrying.
Doesn’t seem that long ago.
Back home, and had a nice chat with a new postman, as our regular one is having some time off.
Turns out he goes to France every year cycling, and stays in the area we know so well.
He was surprised we knew the towns and villages he did. Of course his favourite cycle ride was up Mt Ventoux.
He should have been there for the Tour de France this year which of course was cancelled. However he is hoping to book with Jet2 to fly to Nice at the beginning of July.
Fingers crossed. They take their bikes with them on the plane.
Hope he isn’t disappointed.
It really gave us a lift talking about all the places we love.
Then had lunch sat out in the garden.
Salade Nicoise and a glass of white wine.
Well we could pretend we were in France!
