Stanley swimming

We went to the supermarket this morning to click and collect our shopping and decided to take a slight detour on route for our early morning walk. It was a beautiful morning and we were so relieved to be able to walk through woodland and by the side of water. Stanley was also excited and ran ahead and straight into the reservoir for a swim. Later he wanted to play retrieving sticks.
We also came across this exceptionally tall gatepost, as demonstrated by Ms. S in the extra photo. It is now standing alone , defaced by a way mark sign. It is on an ancient sunken track that now leads down to the reservoir and must in the past have had a significance to justify its size. What size must the gate have been? Just another puzzle to be found in landscape.
