Small white drinking lavender nectar

The weather today was rather cool and wet but during a sunny period the lavender was covered in these small whites. It was only when I expanded the photo on my computer screen that I realised you can clearly see the proboscis extended down into the flower to reach the nectar.
We went to the nearby town for some basic shopping including summer veg plants to plant in one bit of the garden that I intend to clear and dig very fast. Now the weather has changed and the earth has had a good soaking, digging is much more feasible - and I did make good headway in the afternoon.
