Ne’er cast a cloot till May be oot ...

Dry and sunny with a slight breeze today.
Littlemiss came with me to check the 15 heifers I took down the road at the weekend.
They came to the feeding I put out on the ground , most of them tucking in while keeping a wary eye on me as well. Then a couple decided to bugger off taking all the rest with them. It will take time but we will get there eventually .
A nearby farmer in after lunch for a load of rolled barley I have sold him then once he was loaded and away I got my copilot again and we went to spread fertiliser on a couple more grass fields. The lorry load that came at the end of April is disappearing fast. Looks like I might need to buy more yet if this dry weather continues.
Also managed to hack my way through the lawns tonight. It seems to be the only grass that is growing fast- and that’s without any fertiliser ! Maybe I should sow the whole farm with lawn seed !
