The week trundles on.

Our Prime Minister went to face a committee of MPs who are genuinely intelligent and well educated - as opposed to parlaying a limited memory of Latin and Classics from school into becoming the idiots idea of a clever person - and was roundly trounced.

I genuinely marvel at the ability of the Tory party to keep finding someone immeasurably worse than the last PM you thought was scraped from right under the bottom of the barrel.

Maybe Mark Francois is fated to be PM after all. He seems the only obvious step down available.

But there I go underestimating them again.
