Blue Jay (+Phoebe family!)

Another visit to Fort River Refuge this morning, with thin clouds. I was very glad to capture this blue jay--they generally move very swiftly, but this one was relatively cooperative.  The baby eastern phoebe in the extra seemed barely to be hanging on, but both parents were close by and came to feed him every so often.  We wondered how he got to the perch, which was nowhere near any plausible nest location (he did manage to fly a few inches up to the perch you see, from a lower one).
