A wee bit of new snow
...is just one minute step backwards, and spring will soon take a leap!
Hylocomium splendens or Stair-step moss is one of the most common mosses - and a real beauty, I think. It got its English name from the fact that it is growing stepwise - on stairstep each year. You can see its spore capsules in the background of this blip.
