Allotment newts :-)

I know it seems to be the same across most of the UK - but the weather in Edinburgh today has been incredibly fine ...

... spent a bit of the hazy-afternoon at our Saughton Allotment, and was delighted to spot a couple of newts in our Allotment pond!

Even managed to get a half-decent snap of one of them (main photo), and caught the other one from a bit more of a distance - see first extra.

Was also good to see the large cluster of Pink Orientale poppies we have, in one of our flower-beds, beginning to bloom in the bright sunshine - see second extra.

A very satisfying Allotment-visit :-)
