Almost Ready
The barley in the nearby field has gone golden and taken its ‘leaning over’ position. I expect the harvest will be starting soon. One thing has been unchanged throughout the pandemic - farming. Absolutely nothing has changed for them. In fact, they have been able to get their huge agricultural vehicles along quiet country roads without angry motorists behind them. France is opening up again, restaurants from 2nd June, hotels opening, in fact, it is pretty much back to normal in the Charente Maritime. Small changes to habits must continue (masks, gel distancing etc. But at 1 metre, rather than 2 metres, it is hardly noticeable. The only thing they are not really enjoying maintaining is the ban on hand-shaking and cheek-kissing (what goes on behind closed doors - who knows!?).
