Vineyards and North Downs

Out at about the same time this morning, just after 7.30. Another glorious crystal clear day with a cooling easterly breeze taking the edge off the temperatures. The Pilgrim's Way beneath the North Downs was like the M1with cyclists according to a jogger coming the other way so we nipped up a path and on to access land before dropping to cross the M1 and into another of these new vineyards that have sprung up along the foot of the North Downs in the past few years.

As we left I had a text from the iPhone repair company saying that they were in Maidstone so could be with us for 9.30. They arrived at the appointed time, took the phone, handed it back some 10 minutes later repaired, leaving us to make an online payment which was the cheapest we've seen online. All good. What a service.

I like this shot even though it is similar to last Sunday's. It's the contrasts in the lines and the greens and blues. The scarp face of the Downs looks particularly vivid. While I liked the texture of the vines they do have a certain resemblance to the Great War cemeteries.

The remainder of the morning was spent putting a second coat of paint on the studio windows. Only one side to do now and that's a case of slapping on paint as there are no windows that side.

The afternoon just went by doing stuff, ordering some clothes for my upcoming birthday present, ordering some books, preparing tonight's dinner, moving money. All of them time bandits.

We've had some super videos and photos from California. Landon went to the beach for the first time in many weeks. He soon got back into the way of it and seemed to have a great time.

Yesterday's squirrel brought interesting comments from pest to cute. I think both are apt!
