Xena's sister

In case you thought this was a photo of Xena, it is actually a photo of Xena's sister Violet with her human mum and sister. Don't they look alike? The puppies from the litter all turn one year's old on Saturday, so now that six people can meet up outside we thought we would do a birthday walk but as her one sister is having a season at the moment (the pup that stayed with the breeder) we are not sure it will happen now.

We met up with Violet this morning for a walk, and it was lovely to see them together. Soon after we got there Xena went up to Violet's mum for a cuddle and to say hello and Violet did not like that so growled quite aggressively at Xena, who came running back to me with her tail between her legs, but after that they settled down and there were no more incidents. Violet definitely was the dominant dog and Xena followed her around but still seemed to have fun. Xena is taller than her sister as she has longer legs but other than that they look very similar. I did not manage to get any decent photos of them together as they seldom sat together, but I have added a couple in the extras - Xena has the pink striped collar and Violet has the pink plain collar.

After the walk I came home, had lunch and then went grocery shopping. It was effortless and very quiet, I find if I go shopping around lunchtime it is the best time to go as it is not busy. After I got home and had packed all the shopping away I wrapped presents that I had previously bought for a friend's birthday and went to the post office to send them off. 

It has been another very hot day, although I see it gets cooler later this week.
