Half Moon
This morning my wife pointed out that there was again a lovely moon which gave me a chance for today's blip, just as well because I will be spending the afternoon in front of the television watching Wales against Ireland in the Six Nations!
This was taken at 7.30 when the sky had started to get light, but the brightness of the Moon was enough to darken the background on centre-weighted exposure.
I was going to change it to monochrome but that made it so cold, the natural tone is quite warm. I am very pleased with the way that my Fuji bridge camera, the HS10, takes lunar pictures, due to its long lens (720mm equivalent) and high resolution, without any resizing the Moon comes out to about 3" (75mm) square at 300 dpi. However, next week I hope for some more clear skies. If so, there will be dramatic pictures as I return to some experiments in afocal coupling with my telescope. Watch this space!
