The Shepshed Covid-19 Snake
You will recall, I'm sure, a couple of years ago that kids got the craze for painting pebbles and stones. In Shepshed's case the painted stones came to be called Shepshed Rocks.
Well, someone got the idea of encouraging the kids to start it all over again and line up their rocks behind this stone painted as the head of a snake. The line now extends 300-400 metres along the side of the path that follows the course of the old Shepshed railway that ran between Loughborough and Anstey. A wonderful achievement.
Basil and I went looking for it this afternoon with many thanks to Laura for telling us where to look. I think there may be another snake in the vicinity but I don't know where.
A dull start to the day with intermittent light rain but the sun broke through late this afternoon.
What was most memorable about today was that George, Kat and William came to visit. Fantastic to see them after all this time. William played football on the lawn with Mummy, Daddy and Grandad. The choc chip cookies I cooked yesterday were a bit overdone, but got eaten.
See extras for just a few of the rocks in the 'snake.' One was very touching, commemorating a dog, Winston, who had come from a Manchester rescue centre.
