River of Flowers

Friday: #30DaysWild Teasel ...

... just coming into bud and such a valuable plant for nature. It attracts lots of greenfly which the little birds & some insects feed on, then nectar rich flowers for pollinators and seeds in the autumn and winter for goldfinch & other birds.
The leaf stalks are also useful, where they join the vertical stems there are small reservoirs of water which I’ve noticed sparrows drinking from!

We had a family video call this afternoon which was surprisingly sedate, everyone very polite and nice to see us all together. Happy Birthday Jo, hope you’re relaxing and enjoying your evening :-)) xxxx
Washing dried outdoors even though there were a few light showers. Stiff breeze from the West which was quite cold, lots more leaves blown from the trees - looks like autumn on the paths.
I did a bit of family history, backtracking a little because I couldn’t remember how I’d started one branch and the reason why - eventually worked it out and made notes!
Stay safe & healthy and happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
