A mid afternoon spring concert
A rare treat today as Lauralea and I were invited to listen as this young lady gave a concert of piano pieces.
She has been studying for her exam for two years now and is exceptionally gifted. But because of the current situation she’s not allowed to give a recital. So she’s inviting different people for an hour on Friday afternoons for a few weeks so she can practice playing in front of a crowd. Before she has to write her exam.
So we spent an hour in this old farmhouse listening to even older music played by a young gal. The doors were open for a breeze and the noise of the flies buzzing outside just added to the ambience.
She played a favourite of mine that I’d never heard live, Mozart’s Sonata in A Major.
It was a lovely way to change the Covid themes of the day.
Music was Lauralea’s major in college so we had a wonderful chat about music like we haven’t had for years, on the way home.
A delightful day.
Who says we don’t get culture here in the field. :)
