Flower Friday (Friday 5th June 2020)

Springing up from behind the tiny pond is this spectacular lily, possibly for the first time in flower. I think it is Erythronium americanum, also known as trout-lily, but I stand to be corrected.
Thanks to BikerBear as always for hosting Flower Friday.
I had a visit from two police officers on this morning in connection with the attempted scamming incident with regard to my guttering that caused me so much stress and panic this week.
I didn't part with any money and saw through the scam with help from friends. The police advised what to do should the scam roofers return, and they will have to so they can collect ladders and things that they left here "for a couple of hours" on Monday. I will be much happier once that has happened.
Meanwhile I have had a proper quote from a reputable company that is a fraction of what the scammers were claiming to be at cost, and which was regarded as far less urgent. People...

Continuing to trawl though my collection of old music magazines and playing the accompanying CDs I reached Mojo from November 2011 and its CD: Harrison Covered, featuring a variety of artists, most of them exclusive to this CD, interpreting the songs of George Harrison, both for the Beatles and for his solo albums. He was generally allowed one song per Beatles album and by the time he made the triple-album All Things Must Pass he had a vast backlog. One of a couple of tunes he was allowed on 1968's White Album was Long Long Long. Versions of this have turned up on other themed cover discs, notably by Tanya Donelly and Gemma Ray recorded in 2004 and 2008, and this reworking by Newcastle's Lanterns On The Lake, signed to Bella Union.
