Hidden detritus

It amuses/pleases me to think that this piece of abandoned tiling might, conceivably, be a remnant of the insides of the Pollokshaws baths. The tiling perhaps from the changing area, the footbath disinfectant that was brown and smelt pungent, and was supposed to prevent the spread of veruccas and other foot diseases. They no longer exisits so they either had no effect on the transmission of veruccas or perhaps verrucuas have disappeared. To be replaced by something mich more troubling. Anyway, it caught my eye as I was looking at a few random poppies, the extra blip this morning.
Before all of this I was delighted to see three kingfishers, probably the adult pair and a young one. Much activity to the delight of me and two other watchers, one of whom was furious that he did not have his long lense camera with him. A very satisfying morning.
I should probably add that the tiling, if that’s what it is, and the poppy were both discovered on the waste land just behind the Pollokshaws Hub. I guess quite a few metres, 500 maybe, from the old baths. Rubbish can get strewn a long way, I like to think.
