wide open space ....
Its been a beautiful bright day. I'm feeling a lot better, though still not exactly well, but I was craving wide open spaces and lungfuls of sea air so set off with the pup to stroll on the beach in the sunshine. It was still and warm and the skylarks were singing, magic.
It really feels like spring, there was that sweetness in the air.
I went to a couple of beaches and had a little walk along the cliffs and finally drove up to the old signalling tower on Toe Head. The views up there are fantastic. And it was so good to be out.
The tower is part of a network of towers set up between Malin Head in Donegal all along the south and eastern coast of Ireland to Dublin to provide advanced warning of any invasion by Napoleon. Completed in 1806, each tower could see two others on either side and signalling would be done using semaphore.
