Clouds and Sea Foam
H and I went for a walk from West Runton to just after East Runton and back this afternoon. Lots of clouds and sea foam today and a bit chilly, the photo is best seen large. A bit of gardening this morning before the garden bin gets emptied tomorrow.
Day 85 / Day 77 of Lockdown / Day 8 of Step 2 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 55 to 40,597 (beware Sun & Mon low figures) with no new deaths in London. Excess deaths reported are much higher in the UK than other European countries. R rate is reported by Health Secretary to be below 1 in all Regions, and he says the virus is in retreat across the land. 1 in 5 or 6 new infections is reported as being in the North West. Over 80s are 70 times more likely to die of CV than under 40s. A third of virus deaths are in social care. New Zealand has successfully wiped out coronavirus.
Stock piles of medicines built up for a no deal Brexit have been used during the pandemic and must be replaced. Quarantine started today for people entering the UK. Lots of challenge to this as CV is higher here than a lot of other countries, and the quarantine is not a true one where visitors are held at the airport, they have to voluntarily self isolate for 14 days. Dental practices have been allowed to open from today, but a lot haven't.
