Cross Hill

A lovely morning but it looked (and smelt) a bit like it might rain this afternoon. The forecast didn't show a very high likelihood so I went out for a ride. I rode towards Teignmouth and over Shaldon Bridge, then I took the river road up to Newton Abbot and along the cycle path to Kingsteignton and home. Twelve and a half miles.

I stopped at a couple of places for photos. A tree caught my eye as I came out of Combeinteignhead and when I stopped to investigate I noticed this overgrown green lane which is behind a locked gate. It's not on the OS map as a right of way though. I liked this old wooden gate and the shape of the tree.
