It doesn't take long to climb to the top, but what a view! Oxenholme is set out like a toy village. It grew around the station which opened in 1847, and is named after Oxenholme Farm.

It might look as if it is miles from anywhere, but its trains take you to just about everywhere you might need to go - Edinburgh, London, Manchester Airport, and, of course, just a short hop to Windermere.
