Very 1980s

This is the covering over the cushions of an ?Ercol? sofa from about 1970 that I am reviving (it turns out there are hust masses of people who sell the rubber straps & clips for them, which I thought would be a nightmare to get): I remember it being splendidly brown and orange, but my mother recovered it obviously in the 1980s. We're sort-of hoping the 1970s fabric is still there underneath: she can't remember whether she replaced it.

But we don't know if the foam is safe: probably it is not.
