A Slow Death
I have already posted about the effects of canker.
We have a small recreation ground which, on the western side have an avenue of 8 mature trees; there were originally 10 but over time they have had to be felled. I cannot be sure but suspect that they're all about 110/130 years old. Probably planted when the adjacent houses were being built.
I noticed this morning that at least two if not three, are starting to show signs of canker. Early days yet but at some point a risk adverse council will order them to be chopped down.
