Gone

After a long day at work, I took my normal route over to a Canary Wharf to help with the weekly shop. I passed the statue I have passed most days since lockdown started but this time there were camera crews. They said the statue of Robert Milligan was coming down (see extras).

We watched for a while but it became obvious that it was going to take a while, so I returned after supper to find these two young men. We had a very interesting, open discussion and I hope the removed statue and the Black Lives Matter movement continues to teach people a more complex version of history.
