Well, this is sad

Our lilac bush that we raised from a little seedling, is not thriving. Possibly even dying.

The shrub next to that, is dead. The bush next to that is dead too. Dead dead, dead dead.

I don’t know what it was. Plants we’ve had for eleven years and cared for are gone. Kind of disturbing, and strangely sad.

Our neighbour who knows about such things tells us it was winter kill. There wasn’t enough snow on the ground before the ground froze. They lost plants too. Same reason.

So we’re kind of lost. Don’t want to admit they are done. Really don’t want to try to dig them out. But yeah.

I’ve really been enjoying the blips of flowers and plants posted here. So beautiful and full of colour. So keep them coming.

And we will figure out what’s next for us. I’d love to plant roses but not really sure how they would do here at all. But we’ll see.

Wonder how a banana tree would do. I like bananas.
