Dreich . A wet, foggy day. The only bonus was it isn’t cold. Said to Littlemiss that it reminded me of a typical school sports day when I was a kid- it was either a glorious hot sunny day, or more often a day like today when everything was moved into the dinner hall !
Went down the road to feed the heifers who came out of the mist when I called on them.
Back home and spent an afternoon doing paper work . Mostly trying to decipher all the scraps of paper the herds call a year end count and add everything up to get an ( accurate ? ) figure for stock numbers for the agricultural census . Eventually came to a figure, 6000 plus sheep and 530 cattle . No wonder we are short of grass !
