Bugs.  
Perhaps someone can identify the two insects which were found on the wild roses.  The large fly is like a soldier fly with red legs and a red abdomen.  The bug is a young Forest Shield Bug which saps the leaves on oaks as here, and should change into its adult form with red legs in July
