Lockdown Day 84

We were invited to Alison and Tony's for drinks in the garden this afternoon. They live in Woodingdean which is just over 4 miles away by road, but we found a route over the fields and decided to walk, and it was a pretty straight forward route with stunning views.  This shot was taken looking back over Rottingdean towards the sea, and I couldn't have asked for anything better when I spotted the para glider as well as the boat.

It took us just over an hour to get there and when we arrived, they had the side gate open and Alison had prepared nibbles and gone to a lot of trouble to make sure there was no cross contamination.  They have a big garden table so had sat us at the far end, and we all had individual serving spoons.

There garden is on different levels, and on the middle level they have a Tiki Bar, so we went up there for drinks, and in the sunshine with the palm trees in their garden, we really felt like we were on holiday!  It was a lovely afternoon and we finally set off home at about 4.30pm.

When we got home I went in the hot tub for an hour which was lovely after our walk, and we had a rather late dinner of slow cooked lamb shanks.

The exciting bit of news today is that we've found another cottage in Norfolk that we've been able to book for July.  You might remember that our other booking got cancelled, and actually I think this one is better.  It's in the village of Thornham and is part of an old farm conversion, so is away from the main road.  We can cancel up to the day before we're due to go so if there are any problems with staying overnight, we can cancel, but hopefully we won't need to.
