first good news of the entire year

It is now illegal to discriminate against LGBT in employment.

This is flipping huge.

In the 90s gay activist groups were focused on trying to end employment discrimination. Gay people wanted gay marriage. Gay activists wanted people to focus on employment because employment is practical and they didn't think we could get marriage. Marriage, however, captivated imaginations and hearts. Gay activists didn't want the Supreme Court case that got us the right to marry, because if we lost it would set the cause back for ages. Now we have both!!!

The first good news of this terrible, terrible year!
