Walking the Tay Road Bridge
A dull day, brightening up later
A day of exercise - I did 3,000 steps in the morning (which is just under 2 miles) then for lunch we visited our Grandson and his wife over in Tayport. We met in the garden, with social distancing over course. Then we went for a short walk with them, round the harbour and along to the coastal path. The water in the harbour was calm and the boats looked so peaceful. On the wall at the start of the Coastal path was a long line of painted stones, and the one that really caught our eye can be seen in the Google photos album - link below.
Then on our way back to Dundee, I decided that I would take on the challenge of walking across the Bridge and back, just under 3 miles. It was very calm but very dull weather but the views were amazing. The photos aren't quite so good as normal, but at least they prove that we did 'walk the Bridge'. My wife has done it before but this was my first time. The total miles, according to my new Fitbit (a gift from my eldest son - or No 1 son as he calls himself) I walked a total of 14,117 steps or just over 5 miles.
I am recording these statistics as an encouragemnt to me - as well as the other members of the family who challenge me on Fitbit and Map my Walk - it certainly is getting my distances up - and I continue to get fitter and lose weight. Not that you should take this as a challenge to yourself - but if you have ears to hear - get out there lol
